Small group size learning and low turnover

Children are born with a need to belong, first to a family, then to a school, a community and then the colorful world. We strongly believe in the family setting of child care. At little fox, children are all welcome and belong to our loving home where they can share emotions, be accepted, and comforted.

Our children tend to attend Little Fox from birth until they are ready for kindergarten. This creates a loving bond between teachers and children, as they participate in all the stages of a child’s early years and partner with parents to help raise them.

While some Parents worry about their child being the oldest or the youngest, the truth is a mixed age environment allows benefits to all children. Younger children have older children as role models, and are able to do things they might not independently. Older children develop leadership skills and empathy. Mixed ages are together as the real world is to develop confidence and motivation.

As compared to a large center which might have anywhere from 18 to 30 children in a classroom, family child care offers small group sizes and more individualized attention. Research shows that small group sizes have a positive impact on child development, including increasing educational effectiveness, increasing one-on-one interactions, and improving safety.

Healthy intake is important for young children. Our home made meals provide freshness and various nutrition while most veggies and fruits are from our organic garden. Our kids love meal time.

Language and music are our main focus, while English has become the lingua franca of the world, learning a second language (or two) increases opportunities for connections and opens the door to the many benefits of bilingualism. Many studies show that the best way to have smarter kids is to expose them to multiple languages when they are young. Learning a second language also boosts kids’ brains, helps train a child’s ear for music, increases creative thinking, and cross-cultural understanding. Our in house music teacher also plays live nursery songs to our kids which the children love to clap and sing along, dance and laugh together.
